Everton defender Ben Godfrey could even be ruled out for several months due to a worst-case injury scenario, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert affirms that if the damage is close to the tendon, the recovery process will take longer and it can range from days to months as well.

In the case of a rupture to the adductor muscle group, which is the groin area, it could even require surgery, which would keep him out of action for a while.

Speaking exclusively with Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said, “I have heard this termed a ‘groin injury’ which typically refers to the adductor muscle group.

“Timeline there depends on the severity and location of the injury, as closer to the tendon usually takes longer, which can range from day to day to multiple months out if there’s a rupture that requires surgery.

Sean Dyche claimed that the English defender will take some time and ruled him out of the game against Brighton on Monday, 8 May.
