Conor Coady future uncertain at Everton, ‘hard to imagine’ permanent £4.5m option being triggered
Conor Coady faces an uncertain future at Everton beyond this season after falling out of favour under Sean Dyche, according to the Daily Mail (5 May).
The Toffees signed the England international on a season-long loan from Wolves last summer and have a £4.5m option to make the deal permanent at the end of the campaign.
But after being a regular starter under Frank Lampard, Coady hasn’t featured in any of the last ten games under Dyche with Michael Keane preferred alongside James Tarkowski and a report now claims it is “hard to imagine” Everton triggering their buy option.

Blow
Coady immediately made himself a fan favourite at Goodison Park with his leadership and quality of performance, with the partnership with Tarkowski shining early in the season.
But Dyche has opted for something more familiar with Keane and Tarkowski, having worked with both of them at Burnley in the past.
The form of the team hasn’t been great though and fans have called for Coady to be involved more in recent games, with Keane in particular struggling for form.
However if he isn’t going to play under Dyche then spending £4.5m and giving him relatively big wages seems like a stupid idea considering the financial situation we currently have at the club.
Everton have to be smart with money this summer and while losing Coady would be a blow for the fans and the overall quality of the team, it would be the right decision to let him return to Wolves if the manager has no intention of involving him.
