Alan Shearer reacts to Everton win v Brighton in Premier League

Alan Shearer was left stunned by Everton as they picked up a crucial three points in the Premier League against Brighton on Monday 08 May.

The Toffees started the game on fire at the AMEX Stadium, racing into a 3-0 win with goals from Abdoulaye Doucoure and a Jason Steele own-goal, pushing on to win 5-1 in the end.

Shearer labelled the scenes on the south coast as “crazy” with the Premier League giving us another golden moment in its long history.

Everton

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Shearer reacted to the scenes that saw Everton fans in ecstasy as they celebrated more than anyone expected.

“What a crazy Premier League this is this season,” he wrote.

Crazy.

Coming into this one on the back of no wins in our last seven Premier League games and four of those being draws, the most many saw happening here was a draw.

Everton did not read the script though and were sensational from the very start and raced into the lead and they deserved every last piece of success they had.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin was simply untouchable in the final third, and he set up the first goal for Doucoure, who went on to finish off another from Dwight McNeil.

The winger was another who was everywhere, forcing the own-goal too as the Toffees took a huge step towards Premier League survival.

Everton never make things easy for themselves or for those watching, but this was a delight and it makes you question where it has been all season.

Hopefully, this can continue in the final three games of the season.
