Jamie Carragher reacts to Everton win v Brighton ahead of Sky Sports show

Jamie Carragher was left wowed by Everton on Monday 08 May as they smashed Brighton in the Premier League at the AMEX Stadium.

On what could prove to be a crucial day for the Toffees, they raced into a three-goal lead on the south coast and managed to push on for all three points in a 5-1 win.

Carragher admitted the intensity was the main difference from the last time he watched them in the 2-2 draw against Leicester City last week.

Writing on his personal Twitter account ahead of Nottingham Forest taking on Southampton in another crucial relegation clash, Carragher was wowed.

“What a performance so far from Everton,” he wrote.

“Their intensity compared to Leicester earlier today is like night and day. Forest need three points.”

Magic.

Everton were irresistable, especially in that first half.

Abdoulaye Doucoure, Dwight McNeil and Dominic Calvert-Lewin were the main three troublemakers, and they caused absolute carnage for the Brighton defence.

Lewis Dunk has been tipped for England recognition all season, but he will be going into hiding after he was destroyed by the true international in the final third.

Sean Dyche set his team up perfectly and got his selection calls spot on with Yerry Mina coming in and James Garner keeping his spot in the midfield.

Everton have gone two points clear of the bottom three for now but will know the job is not done yet, although it could be if the likes of Leeds and Leicester don’t win again.

Now isn’t the time to get ahead of ourselves, but the lads need to take every last bit of credit they’re given between now and the Manchester City game next time out.
