Everton want 19-goal Raul Garcia amid £8.7m Real Betis development
Everton are battling Brighton for Real Betis striker Raul Garcia who is currently on loan at CD Mirandés, according to Spanish news outlet, Estadio Deportivo.
Garcia, 22, has 19 goals in La Liga 2 during the 2022/23 season and it’s believed Everton and the Seagulls are “convinced” he can perform in England (Estadio Deportivo, 7 May).
It’s believed there are four teams vying for the Spaniard’s services and that the 22-year-old is available for £8.7million.

Garcia is believed to want to return to Betis and fight for his place, however, the La Liga side are eager to consider an offer for the striker in order to comply with financial fair play.
Needed
We all know another striker is required at Goodison Park. Dominic Calvert-Lewin was impressive during the 2-2 draw against Leicester, but the 26-year-old cannot be trusted to stay fit for the duration of a season. Neal Maupay’s move to Merseyside has been a resounding failure and Ellis Simms is still learning his craft in the top flight.
However, much will depend on where Everton are playing their football come the start of the 2022/23 season. Sean Dyche’s focus will be solely on keeping the club in the Premier League. It’s highly unlikely the former Burnley boss will be paying too much attention towards transfer preparations.

Garcia certainly looks like an exciting addition. The striker has been prolific in Spain and is at an age where he could develop further. It would be a gamble by the board, but it could well be one that is worth taking. Everton need to be more savvy is the transfer market and signing younger players who can be developed and sold on is a route to explore.
