Manchester City striker Erling Haaland sends message to Everton fans

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has thanked Everton fans for the boot they sent him to commemorate his recent achievement.

The Norwegian striker recently broke the Premier League record by scoring his 36th goal of the season, which came against the Toffees.

The supporters sent him a boot to congratulate him for doing so and wrote, “E Haaland record Premier League goals., from Everton fans.”

To which Haaland replied via Instagram, “Thank you.”

Bit weird

Everton are in a relegation battle and his goal against them did not really do them any favours in terms of results elsewhere.

Had this goal stopped Liverpool from winning the title or something comparable, one could see why the Toffees fans would be happy about it.

No such instance comes to mind and the Everton faithful doing something like this is undoubtedly a weird thing.

Hopefully, they can manage to get behind the team and ensure that they get the job done in the remaining games of the campaign.

It’s good on Haaland that he thanked them for it, but the fans clearly do not want a thank you and would prefer their Premier League status secured instead.

Sean Dyche certainly will have upset fans by his recent comments and he’s surely got to learn how to read the room and get the results to keep his side up.
