Demarai Gray to start in place of injured Dominic Calvert-Lewin – Everton predicted XI v Wolves

Sean Dyche is likely to make some changes to his Everton starting lineup for the Premier League clash with Wolves that could secure their safety.

The Toffees suffered a 3-0 loss to Manchester City last time out and now sit one point above the relegation zone with two games remaining, meaning if results go their way they can secure their safety for next season.

The boss now must make a decision on his team to bring all three points in against a side who have nothing left to play for this season having already secured their place in the division.

In goal Jordan Pickford is the number one undoubtedly and has been in good form in recent weeks, making huge saves to help the team earn points.

In defence Seamus Coleman is out for the season with a knee injury and Nathan Patterson has deputised well in his absence so should keep his place in the team.

Vitalii Mykolenko missed the loss to Man City with an injury and the team will be hopeful he is able to come back in. If he’s fit he will start, meaning Mason Holgate will fall out of the team and back on to the bench.

James Tarkowski continues to be the regular starter in the centre of defence and with Conor Coady ineligible due to the terms of his loan deal, Dyche is unlikely to make further changes which means Yerry Mina should keep his place in the side ahead of Michael Keane.

Idrissa Gueye continues to be a regular starter in the holding role in midfield, but Everton are lacking that final bit of quality in recent weeks which should see Amadou Onana come back into the team in place of £15m summer signing James Garner.

Slightly ahead of them Abdoulaye Doucoure has been the best performer since Dyche’s arrival at the club and should keep his place as the third man in midfield.

Dwight McNeil is another who has benefitted tremendously from working under Dyche once again and is the in-form attacker in the squad and the team’s top scorer, so he will start in his preferred left-wing role.

Alex Iwobi continues to work hard and deliver on the right and will keep his place in the team, leaving a question mark for the number nine position.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin was forced off at half-time against Man City with a groin problem and considering his injury history it seems unlikely that he will recover in time.

Neal Maupay replaced him in that game but Dyche’s best run of results for Everton prior to recently came with Demarai Gray leading the line, and the former Leicester man should get the nod once again.
