Alan Myers shares fresh Everton takeover update after £600m 777 Partners development

No decision has reportedly been made by the Everton hierarchy as to who the preferred bidder will be with 777 Partners and MSP Sports Capital in the race.

According to Sky Sports news editor Alan Myers, MSP are still in the race and nothing has been finalised thus far.

This comes after it has been reported that 777 Partners are expected to complete a full takeover of the club to the tune of £600million.

Via Twitter, Myers wrote, “They are definitely in the mix but as I understand it no decision has been made yet, MSP still also involved as reported previously.”

Bidding war?

If MSP are actually as interested as 777 in purchasing Everton then they could spark a bidding war or maybe offer as much to give the hierarchy a decision to make.

As of now, it seems like 777 are in the lead to secure the takeover and it remains to be seen if they have any competition in the coming days.

A timeline of less than a week has been imposed so it looks like they’ve got everything in place to go ahead with the purchase.

While their track record at the clubs they own has not been spectacular, Everton fans would relish the fact that Farhad Moshiri is shown the door.

He has been extremely unpopular during his time in charge of the Toffees despite spending money that clubs fighting for Champions League football have.

With the new stadium construction also a major part of the club’s future, it’s important that the new owners prioritise that project as well.
