Abdoulaye Doucoure completely transformed under Sean Dyche, Everton ace underperformed under Frank Lampard

Everton may find themselves in the driving seat when it comes to their Premier League safety, but many fans will still be very worried heading into the final day of the season.

The Toffees can secure their top flight status for another season with victory against Bournemouth on Sunday (28 May). But that task is much easier said than done, particularly given the club’s real lack of consistency this season.

And it has been made much more difficult by the idea that key striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin could miss the match through injury, as per the Liverpool Echo.

The likes of fellow attackers Dwight Gayle and Alex Iwobi could step up and be the heroes against the Cherries, but there is another player who is more than capable of finding the back of the net to clinch safety for the Toffees.

If he can’t get on the scoresheet, he may just be the man who sets up the all-important goal to save the Toffees, with Doucoure flying under manager Sean Dyche.

In fact, the midfielder has produced all of his attacking returns for the season – four goals and two assists – in his 14 matches under Dyche, according to the official Premier League website.

It’s unsurprising then that the option to extend the 30-year-old’s contract until the end of June 2024 was activated earlier this week, as confirmed by the official Everton Twitter account.

The midfielder was missed at various stages of the season due to different injuries, but he is now fit and firing on all fronts, with Dyche desperate for their perfect partnership to bear fruits one more time on Sunday.
