Amadou Onana drops Everton exit hint with Instagram post before Premier League clash v Bournemouth

Amadou Onana has dropped a hint that the must-win clash with Bournemouth could be his final Everton appearance with a pre-game post.

The Toffees host Bournemouth at Goodison Park in the final game of the season on Sunday afternoon (28 May), and know a win is the only result that will guarantee their survival in the Premier League.

But the Belgium international has been linked with an exit away from the club in the summer transfer window and the 21-year-old hinted he could be making his last appearance.

Onana posted an image of himself on Instagram (28 May) in an Everton shirt with the caption, “The last dance…”, a reference to the famous Michael Jordan documentary about his career.

Reading too much into it?

It may just be pre-game nerves playing a part, because Onana has been nothing but committed to the cause at Goodison since arriving last summer.

A big money signing he has been one of the stand-out performers this season, but recently lost his place in the team to James Garner under Sean Dyche.

But the game on Sunday seems to be the perfect type of game for Onana to stamp his authority on and show his quality, which could well attract suitors whether we beat the drop or not.

Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked for the summer after Chelsea were linked in January, and with the club’s current financial situation they could be tempted to cash in during the summer window.

If it is to be Onana’s last dance hopefully it ends well with us still being a Premier League side, and then cashing in for a big profit. But in an ideal world, he’s still a Toffee next season and he’s just teasing with this post.
