Richard Keys and Andy Gray share verdict on ‘Catastrophic’ Everton relegation before clash v Bournemouth
Richard Keys and Andy Gray have been discussing the potential relegation of Everton from the Premier League, calling it “catastrophic” if it happened.
The Toffees are currently level 0-0 at Goodison Park at half-time knowing they must win the game to ensure their survival, and sit in the bottom three with Leicester beating West Ham United at the King Power Stadium.
But speaking on BeIN Sports (28 May) before the game, Gray bit back at claims they could go down and insisted he has believed all day that Everton will win and said it would be “ridiculous” if they weren’t in the division next year.

“As a club, if they go it borders on catastrophic,” Keys said. “Enormously significant.”
“It’s ridiculous to think that they might not be in it next year,” Gray said.
“No, it’s not even crossed my mind. I believed since I woke up this morning that Everton will win the football match today and I’m not wavering from that.”
Crazy
We have to attack, attack, attack in the second half. There’s no two ways about it.
The team looked like it was set up to not lose rather than win, which is pretty crazy when you consider the fact that we’re the only ones who had our future in our own hands before the game.
As it stands we’d be relegated to the Championship because we have no goals in the team and while we’ve been the better team, we’ve simply not done enough yet to warrant a lead.

Defensively we have looked good but at some point that solidity needs to be sacrificed for more attacking threat if we are to get over the line, but there is confidence we can do it.
The fans still believe, and we know it’s still in our hands regardless of what is going on anywhere else. We win, we’re safe. It’s that simple.
We have 45 minutes to get the goal we need. Up the Toffees!
