Everton, Liverpool and Newcastle United among clubs keen on Ryan One transfer

Everton are reportedly in a transfer battle with Liverpool, Newcastle, Rangers and Celtic, among others, to sign Hamilton Accies striker Ryan One.

According to TEAMtalk [05 June], the 16-year-old who’s been on trial at Manchester United previously, may find a move to a Premier League club too hard to turn down – which is not ideal for Rangers or Celtic.

He is a big part of the first-team squad for Hamilton and made headlines in March 2023 after scoring the winner that sent his side to the SPFL Trust Trophy final which saw him being called up to the Scotland under-17s.

Even though it’s the second flight, to be a regular for the senior side at the age of 16 takes some doing and One appears to be on the right course.

Few players appear to be that kind of standout talent before they turn 18 and the young Scotsman appears to be one of them.

He’s raw but still has that drive about him which will make him a great addition to any club that signs him this summer.

He’ll go straight to the under-21s and based on where he is, may even do a good job there and in a year or two could be in contention for the first team.

While Everton do have more pressing issues when it comes to signing first-team players, youth recruitment cannot take the back seat either.

It will be a terrific summer if they sign a young striker like One and an experienced and proven goal scorer like Viktor Gyokeres in the same transfer window.
