Everton target news as Jean-Philippe Mateta wants to leave Crystal Palace, £10m will seal deal
Everton target Jean-Philippe Mateta is “keen to leave” Crystal Palace this summer, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The newspaper adds that the striker would be available for a fee of around £10million, with the player open to a permanent or temporary move.
According to a report from BILD (2 June), all parties are open to an Everton loan deal for the Palace man.

“Jean-Philippe Mateta is keen to leave Crystal Palace this summer amid speculation linking him with a move to Everton,” according to the Liverpool Echo.
“The Echo understands the forward has grown frustrated with his lack of game time at Selhurst Park and is keen to depart either on loan or permanently. The 25-year-old started just six games in the Premier League this season.
“Reports from Europe (BILD) have linked Everton with a move for the forward in recent days, and the Echo understands that a fee of around £10m would be required to secure the services of Mateta on a permanent basis. The Frenchman has already had offers from clubs in Europe but is keen to remain in the Premier League.”

Goals needed
Everton really did struggle in front of goal this season, with their lack of intent in the final third almost resulting in the club dropping out of the Premier League.
The main reason for their issues in this area was the constant injuries to star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, which could continue in the years to come, meaning attacking reinforcements are a must this summer.
The Toffees failed to replace Brazilian Richarlison following his move to Tottenham, while recent recruit Neal Maupay has had a torrid time going forward.
Sean Dyche won’t be jumping into things too soon, with the manager having time on his hands this summer as he looks to bring in the right players capable of taking the club in the right direction.
He needs to strengthen in various areas over the coming months, but bringing in a new striker may just be his priority given the club’s failures in this area for far too long now.
