MSP Sports Capital have already invested £40m in new Everton stadium
MSP Sports Capital have already spent £40m helping Everton fund their new stadium as they edge closer to investing in the club, according to The Athletic.
The club and the investment firm are in talks about MSP Sports Capital looking to take a 25% stake in Everton in return for them funding the final part of the new Bramley Moore Dock stadium.
And while those talks continue, a new report (5 June) has claimed that they have already spent £40m through Andy Bell to help fund the new stadium.

“His investment is effectively interim funding for the stadium while Moshiri and MSP hammer out the finer points of the larger deal, and it has been secured via two charges registered at Companies House late last month, against the stadium company,” they wrote.
“The money, believed to be in the region of £40m, has come from Blythe Capital, a firm owned by Bell and his wife.”
Close
Obviously a deal to bring MSP Sports Capital is close enough that they’re willing to inject cash in early on.
There have been reports that Farhad Moshiri will be losing the majority controlling stake of the club, which goes against this report, but ultimately the important thing is that he is on the way out.

We need to find a way to move forward and start investing money into the playing squad if we want to avoid the situations that we have been in over the last two seasons when it comes to relegation.
There are so many areas of the squad that need strengthening and if Moshiri is insistent on sticking around throughout the summer he needs to make sure his money is spent on making us better.
MSP are funding the stadium now so the priorities have to change towards making signings and giving Sean Dyche what he needs to make the team not have to battle to avoid relegation again.
