Everton can hand Amad Diallo dream Premier League first-team route as transfer news emerges

Everton are “keen” to sign Amad Diallo on loan from Manchester United this summer and could find his Old Trafford minutes limited again with Erik ten Hag planning a major overhaul.

The talented Ivorian forward had endured a difficult spell in Manchester following his £37.2million move from Atalanta to Old Trafford in January 2021 [Sky Sports], followed by a rather disastrous six-month loan spell at Rangers under Giovanni van Bronckhorst last season.

However, the 2022/23 campaign proved his eventual breakout season as he proved a Black Cat hero for Sunderland during their sensational Championship playoff exploits, scoring 14 goals and registering three assists from 39 games.

And according to a report from the Northern Echo, Everton are keen on signing the incredibly gifted 20-year-old winger to boost their attacking weaponry for next season.

“Everton are also believed to be keen to sign Amad on a temporary basis next season, along with newly-promoted Burnley, who will target the loan market as a key part of their summer strengthening,” the report shares.

Given the difficult and testing financial climate Everton finds itself in right now, the loan market this summer may be deemed as a smart and sustainable route to exploit.

Everton have been in desperate need of more options in attack for months since Sean Dyche’s appointment after failing to add a single addition in January after selling Anthony Gordon to Newcastle and Richarlison to Tottenham back last summer.

Dyche has had to rely heavily on the likes of Alex Iwobi and Dwight McNeil as part of his tried and trusted attacking setup to some tremendous success, with Everton avoiding relegation to the Championship on the final day.

Such a success story with a depleted squad at his disposal has only heightened the expectation for the Everton faithful as they wonder what Dyche might achieve should be handed the quality tools to work even more magic, and an attacking reinforcement is desperately needed this summer.

Diallo seems the perfect and arguably the most astute attacking reinforcement Everton could make for next season.

It’s uncertain whether the 20-year-old will establish himself at Old Trafford next season, much to some anger from the Manchester United faithful, given his electric and unique attacking qualities.

Ten Hag has a number of quality options at his disposal and according to The Telegraph [4 June], could yet another winger and a striker to his weaponry for next season which would substantially limit Diallo’s opportunities.

Everton can certainly offer him a dream Premier League first-team route next season as he possesses the qualities to become an instant and guaranteed starter under Dyche’s tutelage next season.

The 20-year-old ranked fifth in the Championship last season for goal-creating actions (20), seventh for successful take-ons (62), seventh for non-penalty goals (4.3) and 1st for goal-creating actions per 90 minutes [FBRef] showcasing he is now ready for a Premier League breakthrough next season.

That may not be at Manchester United, but Everton can certainly offer him the perfect platform and route to finally write his name in the English top-flight headlines.
