Everton want to sign £30m Harry Maguire from Manchester United, player wants to leave
Everton are among the clubs interested in signing Manchester United captain Harry Maguire this summer, and he wants to leave according to Football Transfers.
The England star has struggled for regular first-team football this season at Old Trafford since Erik Ten Hag arrived at the club, making just 13 starts in the Premier League during the 2022/23 campaign.
And after being warned that his England place is under threat by Gareth Southgate, he is now ready to leave the club and the Toffees are among the clubs who want to take him out of a red shirt.

“Manchester United have put Harry Maguire up for sale this summer and the player himself wants to leave, FootballTransfers has learned,” they wrote (6 June).
“The clubs who are interested in Maguire include Tottenham, Everton and Aston Villa.
“It is also possible that Maguire could look abroad, with the Bundesliga and Serie A a possible destination.”
Boost
Central defence was one of the positions last season that Everton had the most depth and quality in their squad.
Jarrad Branthwaite will return from his loan from PSV Eindhoven and is likely to be offered a new contract, but the club have allowed Conor Coady to return to Wolves after his loan spell while Yerry Mina has been allowed to leave at the end of his contract.

There is also talk that the club could allow Ben Godfrey and/or Mason Holgate to leave too, which would create some space for Maguire to come in.
He is the perfect type of defender for Sean Dyche, with his aerial prowess and ability on the ball, and his lack of pace which has been exposed at Manchester United wouldn’t matter too much lower down the table.
The £30m fee would be hard to do for Everton without sales, and his wages are likely to be high too, but if the club can figure it out they would be bringing in a leader and top defender for the level we’re playing at.
