Everton make transfer announcement on Einar Iversen amid Goodison Park exodus

Einar Iversen will also be leaving Everton once his Goodison Park deal runs out at the end of June, along with a host of players.

The club confirmed via their official website on 9 June, that Yerry Mina, Andros Townsend and Isaac Price will be leaving as well.

The 22-year-old midfielder was highly rated in the academy but did not make a single appearance for the senior team.

Right move?

Iverson, a former Norway Under-21 international captained the Blues’ Under-18s and won the prestigious Keith Tamlin Award at the club’s Academy Awards.

He joined from Norwegian club Stord in 2017, and quickly rose up the ranks at Goodison Park, but failed to make his final step up.

He signed a professional deal at the club a few years ago but it does not seem he’s improved enough for Sean Dyche or even Frank Lampard to give him a chance.

No news has emerged thus far of where he’ll be heading but there should be a window lower down the pyramid if he wants to stay in England.

The bigger loss for Everton may be that of Price as he was rated highly by the first-team players as well and Alex Iwobi was full of praise for him after his recent announcement.

He was a player who did make his senior debut when Frank Lampard was in charge but failed to convince the hierarchy he deserves to stay.
