Everton set for multi-million windfall after John Stones lifts Champions League trophy for Manchester City – Sky Sports
Everton will reportedly be making a fee in the region of £2.5million as John Stones won the Champions League with Manchester City.
The Citizens beat Inter Milan 1-0 on Saturday, 10 June which saw the former Toffees defender get his hands on Europe’s illustrious trophy.
According to Sky Sports [11 June, 20:02], there was a clause in the England international’s contract when the sale to the Citizens took place.

Good move
Sky report that Everton are not disclosing the exact fee but that’s common with clubs as they like to keep these things quiet.
However, things eventually leak out so we do not see why they still continue the facade.
While this money is not much in terms of how much they will expect to spend this summer, it’s still something that goes into the club’s coffers.

As it was made from a sale, the only right use of it is to reinvest it and improve the squad after failing to back Sean Dyche in January.
It was evident to everyone that he needed a striker and the club did not even do their groundwork ahead of appointing him, leaving him with a final choice on whom to go for and whom to avoid.
However, it appears that the club have started work ahead of this window and are already leading the race to bring in Udinese striker Beto – a player Dyche wanted in January.
