Everton transfer news as Moussa Dembele update emerges from Fabrizio Romano

Free agent Moussa Dembele has been approached by several clubs this summer, and Everton have been informed on the conditions of a potential transfer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

iNews [7 June], Everton will be targeting the loan market and potential free agents in order to boost Dyche’s squad because of financial fair play, with the likes of Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, mentioned as a potential summer target.

The 70-goal hitman is calling time on his five-year stint at the French giants this summer with his contract at the Groupama Stadium coming to a close at the end of the month.

And Romano, taking to his personal Twitter account of Monday morning [12 June] provided an update on Dembele’s ongoing situation in the market, with Everton interested.

He tweeted: “Moussa Dembélé has been approached by several clubs after leaving OL as a free agent.

“Understand Everton and Galatasaray are both informed on conditions of the deal, while Saudi clubs are also keeping tabs on Moussa’s situation.”

Get him in

The 26-year-old, who has scored 152 senior goals, including 70 across his four and a half years with the Ligue 1 side, is certainly no stranger to Premier League interest with the likes of Everton, West Ham United and Aston Villa or vying for him.

And given the Toffees’ depleted attacking situation right now, Dembele certainly seems a smart and astute piece of business, especially considering his experience at Premier League level.

Everton

It certainly won’t be a surprise to see the former Fulham forward choose to return to the English top flight to prove himself once more and Everton should be desperately courting his services, with Dyche needing a striker to come in and make an immediate impact, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin no longer the reliable and consistent force he once was.

Dembele possesses all the hallmarks of a top-quality striker, and his goalscoring record certainly points to that fact.

More crucially, he fits Dyche’s mould of a centre-forward to a tee possessing great power, strength, size, and ability to hold up the ball well and bring his teammates into play whilst also being a reliable source of goals.

The free agent market is an area the Toffees should look to save costs but Dembele certainly won’t be cheap given his potential wage demands.
