Seamus Coleman agrees new contract with Everton, documents being prepared – Fabrizio Romano
Seamus Coleman has agreed to extend his contract with Everton beyond the summer and stay at the club next season, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The skipper missed the final games of the season after suffering a gruesome knee injury, but was present as the team avoided relegation to the Championship on the final day.
Coleman’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the month, but according to the reliable Romano an agreement on a new deal is “imminent” and will be signed soon to keep him at the club.

“Seamus Coleman, set to sign new deal at Everton – agreement imminent as he’s prepared to stay at the club,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account (12 June).
“Documents being prepared and signed soon.”
Amazing
Picture perfect news for Everton fans on what is now a magnificent Monday night.
Fans were first alerted to news of changes in the boardroom after months and months of protests were finally deemed victorious, and now the skipper is sticking around.

There is no doubting that Coleman is an Everton legend and he will go down in folklore at this club no matter what happens between now and the end of his career.
His leadership off the pitch was instrumental to the team avoiding relegation, but on top of that he performed really well in his right-back position and was arguably the team’s best player over the course of the season.
It can only be a good thing that someone like him with the influence he has is sticking around into the new chapter that this football club is about to go through.
A perfect world sees him skipper the team into the new stadium, but we have to get that far first. Great news.
