Everton transfer news: £34.2m Tammy Abraham update emerges pre injury
Everton were reportedly “very close” to signing Tammy Abraham from Roma, who was also on the radar of Premier League rivals Aston Villa.
According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport [14 June, Page 28], £34.2million deal was in the works before the England international faced a major setback.
However, at the start of June, the 25-year-old suffered a horrific knee injury which will see him miss the next six months. [Daily Mirror]

Hope he gets well soon
Abraham’s injury was horrific and more than his transfer, thoughts will be with him for a speedy recovery as these things do take time.
The Englishman has enjoyed his time away from the Premier League and has become a top striker in Italy.
However, last season, his numbers were slightly underwhelming and Roma sense an opportunity to cash in with Premier League interest.

It’s surprising to see Everton close and leading the race ahead of Aston Villa who can clearly pay more money and can offer European football as well.
It remains to be seen whom the Toffees now look to target as Abraham’s backup as there have been other strikers name-dropped as well.
