Everton transfer news: Ellis Simms future hangs in balance as Sunderland stance emerges

Sunderland manager Tony Mowbray would reportedly “love” to bring back Everton striker Ellis Simms this summer.

According to the Chronicle [15 June, Page 41], Mowbray will be keeping an eye on the developments at Goodison Park as Sean Dyche is yet to make a decision over the forward’s future.

They’re likely to be forced to wait and see what the Toffees end up doing as signing a new striker has emerged as a priority this summer.

Simms may weigh up his options and see where he’s getting more game time and that’s very likely to happen at Sunderland.

Having spent half a season on loan there, he’s already loved by the manager who’s managed to find a way to get the best out of time.

He played just 10 minutes over the last seven games of the season which shows that he’s not particularly high on Dyche’s pecking order.

The manager even wanted to sign a new striker in January and is most certainly going to push for another signing this summer.

There have been a number of strikers linked with a move to Goodison Park and one such person was Tammy Abraham who looked very close to joining but a development in June means that the move is now off.

There’s another striker in the former of Beto who’s plying his trade at Udinese and it’s said that Everton are leading the race to secure his services.
