New Everton striker update emerges as Sean Dyche does not rely on Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Everton manager Sean Dyche reportedly does not rely on the fitness of Dominic Calvert-Lewin ahead of the 2023/24 season.
According to the Guardian [17 June], the Toffees boss wants the club to sign two new strikers this summer amid a goal-scoring crisis.
Everton had to rely on goals from other areas of the pitch as they narrowly managed to avoid relegation last season.

Makes sense
It will be naive to expect Calvert-Lewin to play more than half the matches next season given what’s happened in the past two campaigns.
He’s a talented striker and guaranteed striker when fit but the instances of him being available are few and far in between.
Dyche is one of the managers who does not mix things around too much and prefers to use his best eleven as much as possible.

Given the shambolic team-building at Everton, he was forced to change his number nine on numerous occasions.
He learnt pretty soon that relying on Neal Maupay or Ellis Simms regularly is not the way to go about things and that’s why he needs two strikers in the summer.
It also remains to be seen if Maupay stays on as he has been linked with six-time league winners overseas and they could look to make a bid this summer.
