Salernitana are reportedly set to "revisit talks" as they look to sign Everton striker Neal Maupay in the summer transfer window.

According to the Daily Mail [April 10], the former Brighton forward nearly left to join the Italian side in January but ended up staying put at Goodison Park.

It's understood that they still retain an interest and will eye the 26-year-old's services once again when the window opens.

Get rid

Everton should not have signed Maupay in the first place and now that they did, they already regret making the decision.

They needed a forward who would be a regular goal scorer and it was pretty evident that he could not be that after watching him at Brighton.

Under Graham Potter, the Seagulls created changes aplenty and Maupay was often the one who let his side down to the lack of clinical edge in front of goal.

Even with Dominic Calvert-Lewin ruled out through injury, Sean Dyche is playing Demarai Gray and Ellis Simms ahead of Maupay.

It's fair to say that the Frenchman's time at the club appears to be coming to an end and the most likely destination is Salernitana, a side with six league titles to their name.

Issac Price is another player who will be on his way out of the club this summer as he's made his decision recently.
