Sean Dyche sack development emerges at Everton as Goodison insider speaks out about Bill Kenwright

Sean Dyche would be “vulnerable to a change” if Everton Chairman Bill Kenwright is forced to leave the club, according to the Sunday Mirror.

The publication claims that Dyche would be losing his “biggest backer” if Kenwright followed the likes of chief executive Denise Barrett-Baxendale and chief finance and strategy officer Grant Ingles in leaving the boardroom.

The worry regarding Dyche comes as Kenwright made the decision to bring Dyche to the club after Frank Lampard was sacked, added the Sunday Mirror.

“Everton boss Sean Dyche will begin the new season under increased pressure if chairman Bill Kenwright is forced out of the club,” according to the Sunday Mirror (page 68, 18 June).

“A Goodison insider said: ‘Bill’s head is in a whirl. Everton is a major part of his life and he knows right now it’s a real mess. From Moshiri’s point of view, Bill’s departure would leave it a rudderless ship because he has been involved in many of the decisions.’

“One of those was to bring in Dyche, following the sacking of Frank Lampard, despite Moshiri wanting a more glamorous appointment. If Kenwright does finally depart, Dyche would lose his biggest backer and would be vulnerable to a change.”

Uncertain future

There are a lot of uncertainties at Goodison Park right now, with the club currently undergoing major changes both on and off the pitch.

A handful of senior players could leave the Merseyside outfit in the summer transfer window, while the boardroom exits have already begun.

As for Dyche, the manager may have an uncertain future given this latest development regarding Kenwright, who could be on his way out after such a long time at Goodison.

But the man in the dugout should definitely be trusted going forward, particularly having saved the club from the drop this season.

The Toffees are in desperate need of some stability, so sacking yet another manager is absolutely the wrong option at this moment in time.

A bad start to the new Premier League campaign may, however, force the club into a rethink in the dugout if they want to avoid yet another relegation battle.
