Everton target El Bilal Toure is linked with a move to Atalanta in exclusive Fabrizio Romano news

Fabrizio Romano has provided an exclusive update on the future of Everton target El Bilal Toure.

As reported by The Daily Mail last month (29 May), El Bilal Toure is a target for Everton as the club searches for a new striker to lead the line next season at Goodison Park.

However, they may now face competition from Italian side Atalanta, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano who provided an update on his official Twitter account (22 June).

“Atalanta are interested in El Bilal Toure as new striker in case Hojlund or Duvan Zapata will leave the club this summer,” Romano wrote.

“Almeria striker is in Atalanta list – talks will follow, Premier League clubs are also keen but Italian side pushing.”

With Atalanta now in the race to sign Toure, Everton will need to act fast if they want to land their man.

The 21-year-old striker scored seven goals and provided two assists last season in La Liga to help Almeria avoid relegation by just one point. The player is now ready to make the step up and could make a switch to either the Premier League or Serie A.

Everton are in desperate need of a new striker who can provide goals next season, something the Malian forward could bring, however, with the issues surrounding the club right now a move anytime soon might be tricky. They could therefore lose out on their reported target.

If Atalanta act fast and the interest is real they might be able to use their position in Europe next season to lure Toure to the club.

Everton fans will hope they don’t lose out on their target otherwise their search for a new striker will be back to square one.

In other Everton news, a Leeds sensation linked with the club could be a big hit.
