Tyler Adams release clause development emerges as Everton seek transfer deal, instant Premier League return mooted

Everton could offer Leeds United ace Tyler Adams an instant return to the Premier League as they chase his signature this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper noted that the American will be available for around £25million, but the Toffees face competition from the likes of Brighton, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.

The Daily Mail added that a release clause may have come active in the midfielder’s contract following his club’s relegation to the Championship.

“Brighton are among the clubs keen on Leeds United’s £25m-rated midfielder Tyler Adams, along with Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Everton,” according to the Daily Mail.

“Despite Leeds dropping down a division, his performances have attracted Premier League interest and it could see the midfielder make an instant return to the top flight.

“Upon signing for Leeds, the 24-year-old signed a five-year deal with the club, giving them some leverage in any move out of Elland Road. However, a release clause may have come active in his contract following their relegation.”

Works for all parties

Adams leaving Elland Road this summer is a move that would suit all parties involved, with the player first and foremost expected to stay in the Premier League and continue his exciting development at a top club.

It seems that he has no shortage of suitors, with his only decision now perhaps involving his final destination.

But Leeds will definitely have a say in the matter, not least because the midfielder signed a five-year deal with the club when he joined from RB Leipzig last summer.

The Whites will want to receive as big a fee as possible for the American international as they look to raise much-needed funds in the coming months, and that could mean they wait until the best offer comes in for their player.

As is the case with many senior Whites men this summer, there is very little chance of Adams hanging around and playing Championship football next season.
