Farhad Moshiri paves way for new Everton boardroom with MSP Sports Capital – Finance Expert
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Everton...
Dan Plumley has insisted that it is no surprise that things are starting to happen in the Everton boardroom over the last couple of weeks after surviving Premier League relegation.
Denise Barrett-Baxendale, Grant Ingles and Graeme Sharp have all left the club recently, with MSP Sports Capital now officially closing in on their investment.
The finance expert admitted that MSP have always wanted boardroom representation and the door is now open for that after avoiding disaster with relegation.

“We have seen a lot of narrative with the investment coming in that they wanted seats on the board and wanted to restructure things,” he exclusively told Goodison News.
“That’s logical business decision-making, if you’re going to buy a substantial stake, you would want boardroom influence. That has always been there in the background, and it would now appear that this has been done to pave the way for that.
“Again, there is no surprise in many ways, seeing it now happen at the close of the season when the league status is confirmed and Everton are going to be a Premier League club, because that was really them on the brink and that would have been disastrous.
“It’s no surprise that some of these things are now starting to happen.”

Moshiri has opened the door for this to happen by sanctioning the big-name exits at Goodison Park, so we are only official announcements away from new representation.
This is what everyone has called for, hopefully, it works out for Everton.
