Companies House documents lodged as Everton confirm new boardroom appointments

Everton have confirmed three new boardroom changes after three new appointments were logged on Companies House.

The changes include the appointment of Farhad Moshiri and John Spellman as directors on 23 June, along with Colin Chong who was appointed on 16 June, according to the documents (Companies House, 25 June).

Further changes include the termination of Graeme Marshall, Grant Ingles and Denise Barrett-Baxendale’s contracts on 12 June.

A start

This news is the start but further change is required and the fact that Moshiri remains a key player is concerning for all involved. His brash and fanciful way of running a football club has seen the club flirt with relegation far too often.

Now, a third consecutive season fighting near the bottom end of the Premier League table cannot be contemplated – and it won’t be excepted by the vast majority of Evertonians.

Moshiri’s presence isn’t the only reason for concern. Bill Kenwright is set to remain at Goodison Park after talks were held over his future.

Everton

Despite departures occurring, it does feel like Moshiri and Kenwright will have to follow suit to allow actual developments to be made at Goodison Park.

New perspectives are required in the boardroom. Unless substantial change occurs over the course of the summer, it’s hard to envisage the Toffees avoiding another relegation battle next season. One thing that is absolutely certain is that the fans deserve so much more.
