Everton transfer news: Dominic Calvert-Lewin may have to leave with two striker signings made – Ryan Taylor
Everton have reached the point where they may have to sell Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer due to his extensive injury issues, says Ryan Taylor.
The England striker has only played 34 Premier League games over the past two seasons combined, scoring seven times, after featuring 33 times and netting 16 the season prior, and the team have suffered as a result.
With back up proving highly ineffective over the past 12 months Sean Dyche is going to need to sign another forward this summer, but Taylor feels it might be time for Everton to cut their losses on the number nine and sign two new strikers instead.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT the Daily Express journalist said: “I think they do need a striker, maybe two strikers because they can’t afford to keep putting their hope in Calvert-Lewin. He clearly has fitness issues.
“I think it might be time to move on from him if I’m being honest, although if he can get fit, he’s a huge asset and someone that should be built around. But obviously, he’s really had problems staying fit.”
Sad but true
In an ideal world Calvert-Lewin would be the main man in the Everton attack for years to come, and his goals would push them away from any further relegation battles.
Maybe he gets another year to try to come through the other side of a miserable run of fitness problems, but if a club comes in and puts decent money on the table this summer it would be hard to turn down.
Signing an adequate substitute would take a lot of the pressure off him and possibly turn the 26-year-old into a valuable second string option himself.

Dyche doesn’t seem to trust Ellis Simms to be that man going forward, and Neal Maupay’s time at the club has already proven to be a major disappointment.
It remains to be seen over the coming weeks whether a market for Calvert-Lewin’s services materialises, but the club simply can’t fail to add properly in attack either way.
Richarlison wasn’t replaced effectively a year ago and nobody arrived in January so repeating that mistake this summer would be to take a huge risk for next season.
Inn other Everton news, the Toffees are chasing a cheap wide man ahead of two league rivals and his club need to accept the cash to let him go.
