Everton ace James Garner provides glimpse of future with 90% passing masterclass for England Under-21s
Everton ace James Garner has provided a glimpse of the future with a starring display on the ball for England Under-21s.
The Toffees ace played the full 90 minutes as the Three Lions qualified for the European Championship quarter-finals with a 2-0 win over Israel on Sunday (25 June).
England go into the final group match against Germany on Wednesday (28 June) having already secured qualification to the last eight as group winners.

The youngsters made it two wins from two in Group C, with Garner having also played the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 win over the Czech Republic on Thursday (22 June).
And his display in the latest victory earned him praise from his club, with the official Everton website noting: “Starting consecutive games from right-back, it was yet again an assured display from Garner, making 50 passes at a completion rate of 90.9%.”
Not only did the player show his potential to develop into a regular for his club and perhaps the England senior team, but he also showed his versatility, with the 22-year-old usually operating in central midfield for the Toffees.

Garner’s Everton teammate Jarrad Branthwaite has watched on patiently from the bench in England’s two matches in the tournament so far, but with qualification already secured, there is every chance that manager Lee Carsley could hand the former PSV loanee a start against Germany.
But as far as Sean Dyche is concerned, it is very much the impressive displays of Garner that he will be focusing on as the youngster thrives for his country on the big stage.
In other Everton news, the Toffees have made an approach to sign a £21million centre-forward this summer.
