Everton can take advantage of Sheffield United takeover uncertainty to sign Iliman Ndiaye as transfer news emerges

Everton may now not have a better chance of signing striker target Iliman Ndiaye after Sheffield United’s current takeover uncertainty.

The Senegalese international was outstanding for the Blades last season, scoring 14 goals and registering ten assists as they secured a top-two Championship finish, confirming their place amongst the English elite for next term.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano confirmed on his Twitter account [25 April] that Ndiaye is set for a big move this summer, with Everton interested which was also previously reported by The Sunday Mirror [12 March].

Ndiaye’s contract at Bramall Lane runs out in 2024, giving interested parties a chance at securing a potential bargain deal and according to 90Min [26 June] the club’s owner Prince Abdullah is looking to sell the club but the sale appears to be hampering Paul Heckingbottom’s transfer plans.

It’s believed the Blades could look to sell the 23-year-old Senegalese striker along with midfielder Sander Berge (90min, 26 June).

Ndiaye is surely set for Premier League stardom in the future and is the type of forward the Toffees should be targeting, given his telling quality, and unpredictability in the final third – a potential game-changer for Sean Dyche.

Everton are desperately short of attacking options after selling Richarlison and Anthony Gordon for big money over the past two windows and could be set for more departures this summer to raise funds with the likes of Neal Maupay, Alex Iwobi, Demarai Gray and Amadou Onana all attracting interest and wishing to leave Goodison Park.

The Toffees simply have to make a statement amidst all their own behind-the-scenes peril and snapping up Ndiaye’s services could go a long way to appeasing their anxious fans.

His 14 goals and ten assists in a fruitful and influential 2022/23 campaign show Ndiaye is ready for the step up in his career and any deal for the Senegalese “special talent” hinges on how much Everton are willing to shell out this summer, but this a move the Toffees simply cannot waste time on.

The 23-year-old has already proven he can deliver against one of the English top flight’s elite after his winner against Tottenham in the FA Cup last season and his ability in the final third can certainly raise him to become one of the Premier League’s most exciting and gifted forwards.

Ndiaye created ten big chances, averaged 1.1 key passes per game, 2.6 successful dribbles at a superb rate of over 60% showing just why he was considered one of the best around in the Championship last term.

With Sheffield United desperate to raise funds this summer, this is the perfect draw for Everton to acquire a top striker target this summer.
