Sheffield United ‘vulnerable to transfer raids’ as Everton want to sign Iliman Ndiaye

Everton want to sign Sheffield United striker Iliman Ndiaye by taking advantage of their vulnerability amid their potential takeover this summer.

The Blades owner Prince Abudllah wants to sell the club, which has left them in danger of being vulnerable to raids from rival clubs in the transfer market.

And Everton are hoping to take advantage of that by potentially making a bid for the 23-year-old international forward, having had their interest rebuffed last season.

“The Blades’ owner, Prince Abdullah, is looking to sell the club and this has made them vulnerable to transfer raids from rivals,” wrote The Guardian (27 June).

“Few, if any, top-flight clubs need reinforcement up front more than Everton do, and to this end they could be in for Sheffield United’s Iliman Ndiaye, who impressed during their promotion campaign and for Senegal in last year’s World Cup.”

Talent

Ndiaye is an incredibly talented young striker who has got plenty of potential to step into the Premier League and help Everton with what they need, which is goals.

Neal Maupay and Ellis Simms have really struggled this season and an exit for both looks likely during the summer window, meaning reinforcements have to be a priority.

Plenty of forwards have been targeted but there has been previous interest in the Senegal international, which makes it likely that a deal could be revisited.

Finances are tight at Goodison Park and Everton know they have to be careful with the money they spend, and by pouncing on the troubles at Sheffield United it could make a deal easier to do.

Business needs to be done early in the window to ensure there are none of the same problems as last season for Everton, and Ndiaye is one to keep an eye on.
