West Ham United can exploit Everton for Amadou Onana transfer
West Ham are eyeing Amadou Onana, who they missed out on to Everton last summer, and could take advantage of their need to balance the books, according to the Mirror.
Onana joined Everton last summer and had a successful first season in the Premier League despite the Toffees’ struggles, drawing interest from a number of clubs including Arsenal, Chelsea, and more recently West Ham, who will be looking to replace Declan Rice.
It is reported that any deal for Onana would cost West Ham around £50million, but Everton’s financial struggles could mean they look to cash in to balance the books – although there are other players more likely to be sold for this reason than the Belgian.

For £50million, cash in
If Everton can get close to £50million for Onana, they should accept that deal and reinvest in the rest of the squad. The midfield, including Onana, was one of their strong points last season, but money like that is hard to turn down when the rest of the squad so clearly needs investment.
Onana was a highlight in a largely negative season from an Everton point of view, and they will be reluctant to part ways with such a clear player in their system, no matter how much sense it may make.

Everton won’t be bullied into doing a deal that doesn’t suit them. West Ham won’t be able to low-ball them, especially seeing as every club now knows they are about to receive around £105m for Declan Rice, but if the East London club are prepared to pay the asking price, Everton should let go.
Any income from Onana should be spent to strengthen the rest of what is a relatively poor squad.
In other Everton news, one star could reject a lucrative offer in favour of a Premier League move.
