Everton need contingency plan after Bramley-Moore Dock news – Finance Expert
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Everton…
Dan Plumley has insisted that Everton will need to have a contingency plan in place after an update on their move-in date for Bramley-Moore Dock.
The Liverpool Echo has reported that the Toffees are ready for talks over a move-in date, which looks set for January 2025 as things stand.
The finance expert admitted that if the club do not move in on that date, they will need to readjust budgets to fall in line with that possible delay.

“From the business side of things, if you’re projecting business scenarios of a move-in date and that shifts then you’ve got to have a contingency there,” he exclusively told Goodison News.
“That is the financials of it with a budget scenario around that if you don’t move in on the date you’d have to readjust the budgets a little.
“The other thing is from the playing aspect, does moving in the middle of the season upset the players? How do you transition them in, lots of clubs tend to prefer to move in at the start of a season so you have that off-season to do some of that.
“Those are the two sides of it, either way, it is going to be a minor blip in the road whichever one of those you consider. Halfway through the season, it will probably complicate things.”

This would be very smart, and hopefully MSP Sports Capital have helped with that given their investment has mainly gone on the new stadium already.
It will be a monumental day when Everton finally move in to the new stadium, and hopefully it is done without a hitch.
