Everton ace Dele Alli reacts as James Maddison Tottenham transfer confirmed

Everton midfielder Dele Alli has reacted to the news that James Maddison has signed for Tottenham Hotspur, as confirmed by the club’s official website.

The latter has made the switch from Leicester City, joining the North London outfit on a five-year deal on Wednesday (28 June).

Alli spent five years at Tottenham before making the move to Everton in 2022, with the Everton man now thrilled that Maddison has joined his former club.

Confirming his move to Tottenham, Maddison posted on Instagram: “New chapter. Hungry. Come on you Spurs.”

Super signing

Maddison is a fantastic signing for Tottenham, who were in desperate need of some more attacking creativity after a frustrating season last time out.

Alli was, of course, that player once upon a time at the North London club, with the midfielder shining brightly in white as a youngster.

He was well-loved at Tottenham, but gradually fell off the radar as his performances declined, with Frank Lampard then bringing him to Goodison Park last January.

Things went from bad to worse for Alli at the Merseyside club, with the 27-year-old later sent out on loan to Turkish club Besiktas, where the problems continued to build.

His Everton future is very much up in the air at this moment in time, with nobody quite sure where the former England star will be playing his football next season.

Maddison is at a very different stage of his career, with his move to Tottenham causing plenty of excitement for supporters of the club.

In other Everton news, one Toffees ace is attracting “significant interest”, he wants a return to his former club.
