Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge has been speaking with Give Me Sport (30 June) to provide an update on the 26-year-old’s future.

“He’s going to make a decision over the next few weeks. He needs to speak to Villarreal about whether he goes back on loan again or if it is on a permanent deal,” Bridge said.

If it was permanent, I think it would be around £20 million to £25 million.”

Forgiven

It appears that club officials at Goodison have clearly moved past Danjuma’s dramatic January snub.

However, it remains to be seen if fans share the same feeling. There may still be some fans who would not welcome the Villarreal man with welcome arms after he rejected the club in order to move to Spurs.

Although if Everton do sign the winger and he begins to score goals and provide assists, it is easy to imagine that he could be quickly forgiven.

His loan didn’t work out in North London however the forward was rarely given a fair chance and did not feature very frequently. The player certainly has the quality and could be exactly what Everton needs.

With a reported price tag of £20-25million that would be considered good value for a player with his Champions League pedigree but it is not clear whether Everton would be willing to pay the fee with the ongoing issues at the club.
