Everton: Demarai Gray sends two-word message to Anthony Gordon as England under-21s reach Euro semis
Everton forward Demarai Gray has sent a two-word message to former Goodison Park star Anthony Gordon as England Under-21s booked their place in the European Under-21 Championship semi-finals in Georgia.
The 22-year-old forward, who completed his big-money £45m to Newcastle in January, smashed home the winner in a 1-0 win against Portugal, from a Morgan Gibbs-White cutback after good work from lovely flowing football from Lee Carsley’s team.
England are yet to concede a single goal throughout the tournament so far and face a semi-final tie with group-stage opponents Israel on Wednesday [5 July].

And taking to his personal Instagram account [2 July], Gordon showed off his man-of-the-match award with the caption: “We’re not done yet.”

And exit-linked Everton forward Gray, who is attracting interest from Fulham and Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal posted a two-word message to his ex-teammate, saying: “Makes sense.”
On a roll
England Under-21s made a very strong start to the tournament, winning all three of their group-stage matches so far 2-0, having first defeated the Czech Republic on Thursday (22 June), and secured another superb win against Portugal.
While all the hype will be around their superb football being played right now, through the likes of former Everton star Gordon, it is their defence that must receive just as much praise, as Carsley’s side are still yet to concede in the tournament in their four games so far.

However, Gordon has certainly discovered a new lease of life at international level, after a rather difficult and tumultuous campaign which started when he received backlash from Everton supporters following his move to Newcastle, which hasn’t really been fruitful so far.
In an unfamiliar role as Carsley’s main centre-forward, the 22-year-old is impressing in Georgia and Gray who may leave Everton this summer was certainly well-inclined to heap praise on his ex-teammate after an impressive performance.
Maybe Gordon will be sending a message to Gray telling him what life is like outside of Goodison Park. From the Magpies forward’s perspective, the grass hasn’t been any greener since he departed in January.
In other Everton news, an update on potential “bad blood” has emerged as the Toffees push for a surprise signing this summer.
