Injury Expert reveals ramifications as Everton ace Seamus Coleman faced ACL scare

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Everton...

Everton captain Seamus Coleman faces further risk of setbacks in the future due to his constant injuries, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert reacted as the Republic of Ireland international missed a significant chunk of last season due to injury as his side fought relegation.

BBC pundit Michael Brown revealed at the time that he may miss a significant amount of game time as it could be an ACL rupture.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Goodison News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said, “All we’ve been told about the injury is that it’s a knee injury and not ACL related.

“For that reason, it’s difficult to say how long the recovery will be or what the exact nature is.

Age and constant setbacks can play a part in breaking down fitness which means more risk for injury as the player tries to adapt and get back into the fold.”

Coleman signed an extension at the end of the season at Goodison Park as his contract was coming to an end at the club.

He will be turning 35 in the winter so his age certainly is a concern for his fitness and future injury setbacks as the recovery time tends to be higher.

Sean Dyche will be hoping that he’s got his leader to call upon whenever needed while Nathan Patterson needs to now prove he’s ready to take over the first-team responsibilities.

In Everton news, Alan Myers has shared a major update on Sean Dyche’s future after a development over his sacking has emerged over the past few days.
