Everton handed boost in Charles De Ketelaere pursuit amid loan and £25.6m developments, can reignite career

Everton have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of AC Milan attacker Charles De Ketelaere, and he is a player that really could take the club to another level next season.

The Toffees are in desperate need of several characteristics for the new campaign, namely passion, pride, leadership and determination, as well as talent, of course.

Creativity is also required at Goodison Park, and one player that has that in abundance is Belgian international De Ketelaere.

He should be chomping at the bit to take on a starring role next season, having endured a very difficult debut campaign in Italy, where the attacker failed to score in 40 appearances in all competitions.

The 22-year-old registered just one assist as he failed to hit the heights expected of him in Italy following his move from Club Brugge last summer.

According to Pianeta Milan, the Toffees are one of several clubs keen on giving the youngster a fresh start next season.

And the publication noted that Milan could be open to a loan, or else a permanent transfer for at least €30million (£25.6million).

His figures last season don’t justify that fee, but his previous displays for Brugge and indeed the Belgian national team certainly do, as does his potential in the years to come.

The attacker will be eyeing a place in the Belgium squad for Euro 2024, and that can be easily achieved with a move to Everton and a fast start to life in England.

It will, of course, be a big ask for the Merseyside club as they look to battle it out for his signature, with the player attracting interest having previously been one of the most sought-after talents in European football.

In other Everton news, Leon Osman has shared a Sean Dyche sack verdict after a “dreadful” season.
