Bid update emerges as Everton still in transfer race for Viktor Gyokeres
Sporting CP have reportedly bid with significant add-ons for Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres with Everton still in the race.
According to the Northern Echo [5 July], the value being offered as part of the deal is £18.5million but the Championship side are not accepting it.
The Toffees still remain in the hunt but no bid has been tabled by them for the Sweden international.
Still a chance?
Everton know that if they bid a bit above that, they stand a chance to get it accepted and then they can work on the other details.
However, by the looks of it, he fancies moving there as they can offer him European football and the chance to compete for trophies.
Also, money is an issue at Goodison Park and Everton will have to sell some players in order to raise funds for new signings.
Rather than signing a player wanted by everyone, Sean Dyche will be better off targeting someone who’s not really in demand.
That can see him secure his services on the cheap and they will probably need to get it done as soon as funds are available.
