Injury Expert reacts as Everton midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin agent talks about transfer this summer

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Everton...

Everton midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin played without any major concerns for Trabzonspor due to multiple factors, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert believes that the intensity of the Premier League may have been too much for him to deal with – which led to him facing multiple setbacks since his move to Goodison Park.

It could also be that the playing style of the Trabzonspor manager was less physical and intense which would not require as much off the ball.

He also believes that not having the “flop” label would certainly help him perform without having to prove his worth to everyone.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Goodison News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said, “The reason for him playing regularly on loan could be a number of things – the intensity of other leagues compared to the Premier League is lower – for example, the data shows the Premier League has the highest quantity of sprints per match out of any league.

Additionally, the playing style of the manager could be different and less intense.

The pressure of not being ‘A flop’ and not trying to rush through injuries or be fearful you may not get another chance can also influence better habits.

Gbamin moved to Everton for big money in 2019 – with the deal costing the Toffees £25million.

Since then, he’s not even made double-figure appearances for them as he’s faced one setback after another.

His agent went on the record on 18 May and claimed that he will not be playing ever again for the club and is on his way out this summer.

The 27-year-old still has a year left on his deal so he can command a transfer fee if he’s sold in the coming weeks.

In Everton news, Alan Myers has shared a major update on Sean Dyche’s future after a development over his sacking has emerged recently.
