Everton have reached a verbal agreement for the sale of Ishe Samuels-Smith to Premier League rivals Chelsea, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer specialist noted that the documents are now being completed for the £4million transfer of the 17-year-old.

Samuels-Smith, who joined Everton at Under-9 level, as per the official club website, will sign with the West London club until 2026, as per Romano.

“A deal has been verbally agreed for £4m, with documents being completed. He will sign until June 2026.”

Top talent

Samuels-Smith joined the Toffees long ago, but now his journey with the Merseyside club is coming to an end, with a very exciting switch to Chelsea coming up for the youngster.

His hard work behind the scenes at Everton has clearly paid off, although it remains to be seen what lies ahead for the teenager at Stamford Bridge.

Given the long list of players currently in the Chelsea first team, a loan move or time spent in the club’s youth setup seems the most likely option.

Having played for Everton’s Under-18 and Under-21 sides, as well as the England Under-15, Under-16 and Under-17 teams, Samuels-Smith has a very bright future ahead of him.

The Toffees are, of course, losing an exciting talent, but importantly they are making money on an academy graduate who had not even made a single appearance for the first team.

That represents a fine deal for the Toffees, with the club needing all the funds they can get their hands on this summer.

In other Everton news, Joey Barton has sent a three-word message as a Toffees exit is confirmed after a contract snub.
