Alan Myers update suggests end of road for Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Andre Gomes at Everton

Alan Myers has issued an update on Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Andre Gomes as Everton made a return to pre-season training.

The Sky Sports news editor claims that the duo were not spotted by him in first-team training under Sean Dyche.

Both Gomes and Gbamin were loaned out last season and have been linked with the exit door this summer.

Via Twitter, Myers wrote, “Didn’t see them tbf but I don’t know if I’m honest.”

Gbamin’s lack of availability for the first team already must’ve raised major red flags when Dyche took over the team.

He would have seen the players out on loan and their contribution to the first team – something that would not have impressed him.

His agent has already gone on the record on 18 May and stated that the 27-year-old will not be playing for the Toffees again so it would’ve been surprising had he featured in training.

According to the Liverpool Echo [30 June], LOSC Lille are open to bringing in Gomes either on another loan or on a permanent basis.

He impressed Paulo Fonseca on loan out there last season and he wants him back for the 2023/24 campaign as well.

With Tom Davies already quitting, the Toffees are all but set to lose two more midfielders this summer and may perhaps lose another if they feel to keep Amadou Onana at the club.

In Everton news, Alan Myers has shared a major update on Sean Dyche’s future after a development over his sacking has emerged recently.
