Everton ace Alex Iwobi sends three-word message after Arsenal transfer confirmed

Everton ace Alex Iwobi has sent a three-word message to Granit Xhaka after the latter announced his exit from Arsenal.

The Switzerland international has left the Gunners to join Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen, as confirmed by the official Arsenal website (6 July).

Xhaka and Iwobi spent a handful of years together at the North London club before the latter moved to Everton in 2019.

Xhaka shared a lengthy farewell message to Arsenal on Instagram, beginning with the words: “Gunners, it’s been some journey – and all that’s left is for me to say thank you.”

And his former Gunners teammate Iwobi commented: “What a guy.”

Tributes pour in

Iwobi and Xhaka spent plenty of time together in North London, with the Everton ace clearly having a lot of respect for the outgoing Arsenal man.

The two players will have shared many happy moments together with the Gunners before Iwobi decided to call it a day in the capital and make the switch to Merseyside.

Having stayed a few more years, Xhaka will now exit the Gunners as a club legend, with the midfielder boasting 297 appearances in red and white.

A new challenge now awaits in the German top flight, while there is every chance he could line up against his former club in the near future.

Toffees ace Iwobi certainly isn’t the only one showering Xhaka with tributes, with the Swiss international proving there is always time to change having previously come so close to leaving the club after falling out of favour with the Arsenal fans.

In other Everton news, one journalist has mooted summer exits for three Toffees players who give Dyche a “major headache.”
