Lewis Warrington and Tom Cannon now in line for senior Everton chance after Finch Farm update
Everton academy graduates Lewis Warrington and Tom Cannon could get a chance in the first team next season, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The potential opportunity comes as the young duo reported for the first day of pre-season training with the Toffees senior players on Thursday (6 July).
Warrington has had loan spells at Tranmere Rovers and Fleetwood Town, with Cannon having previously been sent on loan to Preston North End.

“The first day back was not just for senior players with academy starlets also involved,” according to the Liverpool Echo.
“Among them were Lewis Warrington and Tom Cannon, two players who could potentially get a chance under Dyche.”

Golden chance
It really is a golden opportunity for Everton’s youngsters to impress manager Sean Dyche and indeed the senior players in the squad
Not many young players get chances like this at Premier League level, with such players seemingly constantly sent out on loan to clubs lower down the divisions.
But both Warrington and Cannon have already experienced these loans, meaning the duo should now be keen to hit the ground running in the senior setup.
And the stars have aligned for both, with space for Warrington to step up in midfield after the departure of Tom Davies following the expiry of his contract at Goodison Park.
The striker situation meanwhile is evident for all to see, with the futures of Ellis Simms and Neal Maupay up in the air, as Dominic Calvert-Lewin continues his long path to full fitness.
Cannon could be thrown in at the deep end next season and may just swim following his excellent loan spell at Preston last time out.
In other Everton news, one journalist has mooted summer exits for three Toffees players who give Dyche a “major headache.”
