Everton on collision course after more boardroom news – Finance Expert

Dan Plumley has insisted that everything is colliding right now at Everton with talks ongoing between George Downing and Farhad Moshiri.

Alan Nixon has reported that Moshiri is in talks with Downing over a place on the board, with the possibility of the “wealthy tax exile” replacing Bill Kenwright eventually.

Plumley admitted that Downing will raise eyebrows at Everton, with too much going on and creating yet more uncertainty ahead of the new Premier League season.

“What we have seen so far on this is very brief,” he exclusively told Goodison News.

“The term ‘wealthy tax exile’ will always raise eyebrows, we don’t know what that would look like in terms of how he would sit on the board, there have been whispers about him being the future chairman if Kenwright was to step aside.

Again, how often have we spoken about this with Everton? This is now a new name in the mix, against all of the other things going on, takeover still not over the line, stadium too, there is loads going on at the club and it feels as though everything is colliding.

All that uncertainty does not promote stability going into the new season and that’s the biggest concern still.”

Moshiri, Everton and stability are just three words that will never be in the same sentence, well in a positive manner, that’s for sure.

With MSP Sport Capital’s investment still not announced and construction still ongoing at Bramley-Moore Dock, it feels right for some sort of update on the state of the club.

That is never likely to come, though.
