Arnaut Danjuma now open to Everton transfer after ‘dramatic U-turn’
Villarreal striker Arnaut Danjuma is reportedly open to a move to Everton despite the club’s failed loan bid for the 26-year-old in January, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The newspaper reported (11 July) that Danjuma has multiple options on the table, but that a move to Merseyside is an option he would consider as he bids to have a more impactful season than his middling loan at Tottenham last season.
The Echo says Danjuma made a “dramatic” U-turn in January and opted to join Spurs over the Toffees, but the club still consider him an opinion as they seek to improve their attacking options.

More than capable target
Everton needs to add to their attacking depth, and their interest in Danjuma last winter may go a long way in convincing the Dutchman to switch to Merseyside.
However, other Premier League suitors are reportedly interested in his signature with Crystal Palace having a supposed “tentative interest” in the forward [Michael Bridge, via GiveMeSport].
But he could be an excellent fit for Everton and has proven himself to be a successful and reliable goalscorer.
His last standout campaign came at Villarreal in 2021/22, where he scored ten goals in 23 La Liga appearances while also scoring six Champions League goals as the Yellow Submarine reached the Champions League semi-final under current Aston Villa boss Unai Emery.
Danjuma comes with plenty of experience for a relatively young striker, and would certainly challenge Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s starting spot. The Englishman had a difficult campaign which saw him end with just two league goals in 17 appearances amid continual injury setbacks.
Some fresh legs and competition may be what is needed for Sean Dyche’s side to move away from their relegation form of last season and get back to midtable.
While a deal may not be imminent, Toffees fans may want to keep an eye on this transfer and hope that he considers Everton his best option.
