Everton set for cash injection to boost Sean Dyche’s transfer budget as takeover edges closer

Sean Dyche could be set for a cash injection to boost his transfer budget amid the ongoing takeover at Everton, according to the Daily Mail.

The Toffees have been financially handicapped in recent seasons, forcing them to sell the likes of Richarlison and Anthony Gordon to stay on the right side of FFP regulations.

But with Farhad Moshiri on the brink of selling some shares in the club to help fund the new stadium, Dyche could get a fresh injection of money to help bolster the squad during the summer window.

“But Everton could see a new injection of cash come pretty soon amid their ongoing takeover which could help improve Dyche’s transfer budget this summer,” they wrote (10 July).

Needed

It’s been a long time since Everton have been able to spend money freely to improve the squad, but it’s exactly what is needed.

Last summer Frank Lampard spent relatively well to bring in the likes of Amadou Onana, James Garner and Idrissa Gueye however he also blew some cash on the likes of Neal Maupay which we simply can’t afford to do right now.

With the sale of Anthony Gordon in January there is £40m that has so far been left untouched that can be spent, but that isn’t enough to address all the issues we have in the squad.

An injection of extra cash will be ideal to allow Dyche to put his own stamp on the squad and bring in the players that he feels we need to move away from relegation battles and up the table.

Ashley Young is first on a free transfer, but there could be a few more to follow if this cash injection happens.
