Fabrizio Romano: Everton contract signed as ‘here we go’ shared for Ashley Young signing
Ashley Young has completed a medical at Everton ahead of signing on a free transfer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The journalist reported via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday (11 July) that the 38-year-old has signed his contract at Goodison Park to become the newest addition for Sean Dyche with the Blues.
Romano added his famous “here we go” catchphrase in his tweet, meaning that the deal is as good as done.
Done deal
Everton just need to announce this deal and we can safely say that Young is an Evertonian.
If you look at this deal from afar, you’ll that Everton are signing a 38-year-old full-back on a free transfer after he was released by Aston Villa.
Many may turn their nose up at that.

However, if you think about it, it all makes sense.
Everton have Financial Fair Play issues and they also really need to add some depth in the full-back area on both sides of the defence.
Young made 29 Premier League appearances for Villa last season playing as a right-back and a left-back.
He helped them qualify for the Conference League while Dyche ended the season at Goodison Park in a relegation battle and with Dwight McNeil and James Garner playing in wing-back positions.
Young will arrive as a squad player without a transfer fee but with 422 Premier League appearances and 39 caps for England to his name.
He’s a great signing.
In other Everton news, the Toffees have also made an approach to sign another full-back on top of Young as Dyche looks to address a priority position.
